Note: If you have previously submitted a FAFSA that lists only your current institution, you must add º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Federal School Code to your .

Steps for Updating Your FAFSA School Code:

1. Log into the
2. Click on Make FAFSA Corrections
3. Navigate to the School Selection
4. Click the Add a School
5. Enter º£½ÇÉçÇø’s School Code (003661) in the Federal School Code box and click Search. The University of Texas at El Paso should populate automatically. Check the box, then click the ADD button, and click
6. Proceed to Sign and Submit

1. º£½ÇÉçÇø should receive an email confirmation from Federal º£½ÇÉçÇø Aid. º£½ÇÉçÇøs should review this email to ensure all information provided on the FAFSA is correct.
2. Once º£½ÇÉçÇø receives your FAFSA data, students will be notified via the student’s º£½ÇÉçÇø email address of either a Financial Aid Award offer or a request for additional documentation.
   1. Some students may be selected for Verification by the Federal Processing Center and/or additional documentation is needed to verify a student’s eligibility for financial aid.
   2. º£½ÇÉçÇø’s selected for Verification will receive an email from ProVerifier+ with a link to complete the Verification process on the ProVerifier+ Portal.
   3. º£½ÇÉçÇøs must resolve and submit any unsatisfied requirements as soon as possible in order to complete the financial aid process.

1. To view your unsatisfied requirements, you will need to know your º£½ÇÉçÇø credentials (username/password).

2. Log into  → Financial Aid tab → My Eligibility → º£½ÇÉçÇø Requirements → Aid Year

1. Once you have been awarded, a financial aid award notification will be sent to your º£½ÇÉçÇø email.
2. To view and accept your award(s) in Goldmine:
   • Click on Financial Aid
   • My Award Information
   • Award by Aid Year
   • Select the applicable year
   • Click on Accept Award Offer tab
3. If you plan to accept a Federal º£½ÇÉçÇø Loan and are a first time borrower, you must complete the following at :
   • Entrance Counseling
   • Master Promissory Note
   • º£½ÇÉçÇøs must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
4. All financial aid award(s), including scholarships, are awarded assuming you will be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more). If you enroll less than full-time, financial aid may be adjusted accordingly.
5. All courses must be part of a student’s Degree Plan to be eligible for financial aid funds.
6. Financial aid disburses 10 days prior to the official first day of classes. If you have not completed the financial aid process, we recommend you contact the Office of º£½ÇÉçÇø Business Services (SBS) to discuss payment options.
7. Enroll in Direct Deposit.

In accordance with federal regulations, in order to remain eligible for financial aid, students must continue making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward their degree. SAP is measured by reviewing a student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA), the pace at which a student completes coursework, and the maximum timeframe in which a student may complete an academic program. As a transfer student, it is important to be aware that the maximum timeframe cannot exceed 150% of the student’s program of study/degree. For example, if the program requires 120 credit hours, the maximum timeframe is calculated as follows:

120 credit hours x 150% = 180 maximum credit hours

This calculation includes all transfer credit hours attempted at any college or university prior to attending and while enrolled at º£½ÇÉçÇø.

Federal Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need and have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree. The amount of Federal Pell Grant funds a student may receive over the student’s lifetime is limited by federal law to be the equivalent of six years at full-time of Pell Grant funding (600%). Transfer students receiving Pell Grant should monitor their Pell Grant usage on their º£½ÇÉçÇø Dashboard at º£½ÇÉçÇøAid.gov.
