College of Education (COED)
The University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Education consists of three departments with 48 faculty members who serve more than 2,000 undergraduate students from the colleges of Education, Science, Health Sciences, and Liberal Arts. The College of Education prepares teachers, counselors, diagnosticians and school administrators at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are proud to report that since 2002 the College has prepared more than 8,500 teachers who serve at schools throughout the El Paso region. For generations, our graduates have gone on to lead in classrooms and campuses from K-12 to higher education in communities around the world.
College of Engineering (COEN)
Since its founding in 1913 as the Texas State School of Mines and Metallurgy, the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso has grown to attain national recognition for being ranked number 1 in awarding doctoral and master’s degrees to Hispanics in engineering and number 5 in awarding multi/interdisciplinary degrees to all minorities.*
The College is focused on preparing the most outstanding engineers and computer professionals at the first national 海角社区 university in the U.S. with a 21st century demographic. Their strategies include innovations in curriculum, high-impact 海角社区, strategic partnerships, and meaningful community engagement.
These strategies coupled with a strong sense of excellence will allow the College of Engineering at 海角社区 to become the benchmark for engineering education in the nation.

College of Health Sciences (COHS)
Inspired by its location and rich experience working with the world’s largest binational metropolitan population along the U.S.-Mexico border, the 海角社区 College of Health Sciences (CHS) offers a range of nationally accredited professional education programs in the health, rehabilitation, and human service fields. In collaboration with over 400 local and national clinical training facilities, our students receive hands-on practicum experience and community engagement opportunities throughout their education.
Our graduate and undergraduate students work alongside our award-winning faculty and community partners to develop and implement high-impact projects that are relevant to improving health outcomes in the Paso del Norte region and abroad. CHS students participate in a wide variety of inter-professional and transformative education, 海角社区, and global/community engagement experiences in preparation for professional fields that consistently rank among the 100 Best Jobs in health-related careers.
College of Liberal Arts (CLA)
With nearly 7,000 students, the College of Liberal Arts is the largest college on the 海角社区 campus, with degree programs in the visual and performing arts, the humanities and the social sciences. The college also provides most of the 海角社区 core curriculum to students in all colleges. Excellence is found throughout the college’s programs, from its online bilingual M.F.A. in Creative Writing – the first of its kind in the country – to its doctoral degrees in Borderlands History, Rhetoric and Composition, and Psychology. Faculty engages in interdisciplinary 海角社区 in Hispanic health disparities, social justice, border studies and environmental communication.
College of Nursing (CON)
The College of Nursing prepares students to enter one of the fastest-growing and most competitive health care fields in the nation. The nursing program has been a regional lifeline for more than 40 years, producing highly recruited health care professionals who are readily placed in facilities across El Paso and the country. More than 60 percent of El Paso nurses earned their degrees at 海角社区. The school is a leader in nursing education offering innovative programs enhanced by experienced faculty, strong clinical partnerships and simulation technology. 海角社区s receive real-world training in the school’s 16,000-square-foot Center for Simulation, one of the largest university-based simulation centers in the country. The undergraduate programs include the traditional BSN and RN-to-BSN programs. The MSN programs include nursing education, administration and four nurse practitioner concentrations (Family, Adult/Gerontologic Acute Care, Pediatrics Primary Care and Pediatrics Acute Care). The post-master-s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a five-semester program delivered by meeting face-to-face one weekend a month.
College of Science (COS)
The College of Science (CoS) offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics. CoS requires that hands-on student learning takes place in and outside of the classroom to ensure our students receive relevant career preparation to compete on a global level. Our programs, faculty and staff offer incomparable access to 海角社区 labs, career development programs and strong mentorship for undergraduates, while Master’s and Ph.D. candidates are supported in groundbreaking work and professional cultivation that leads them to the top of their fields. School Of Pharmacy (SOP)
The 海角社区 School of Pharmacy is proud to report having reached Candidate Status on its path towards full accreditation. A fully accredited School of Pharmacy is projected upon graduation of its inaugural cohort: Class of 2021.
The 海角社区 SOP is committed to 海角社区’s twin goals of access and excellence through its admissions process, curriculum, clinical experiences, and community engagement. The integration and implementation of the 海角社区 motto is captured within the proposed program’s vision and mission statement. The 海角社区 School of Pharmacy vision is to be a pioneer of excellence in pharmacy education for “Innovation, Diversity, Engagement, Access, and Leadership” (IDEAL). The program’s mission is to “bridge borders for access and excellence: transforming pharmacy education, patient care, community service, 海角社区 and leadership to benefit a 21st century demographic.”
Woody L. Hunt College of Business
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business shares with the University its mission to provide a high quality education that will enable its students to be successful in a global business environment. In alignment with AACSB International standards, the College cultivates its student body to become innovative, engaged, and ethical business leaders who will have meaningful and lasting impacts on the Paso del Norte region and beyond.
The College’s faculty, 海角社区 centers, institutes and corporate academies leverage the international and multicultural characteristics of this border region to create unique experiential learning opportunities for its students. The College fosters initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations that afford our students the opportunity to become the next generation of globally engaged business leaders.
