There are a number of resources on campus to assist and reward deserving students. We encourage you to visit the Office of Scholarships to determine if there is a program for you. Scholarship and fellowship programs can be merit-based, needs-based, student-specific (e.g., international, transfer students, female students, first generation college students), career-specific, or discipline-specific.

Before submitting your application packet, you should seek constructive review from your mentors or advisors. Putting together a strong packet often requires several revisions.

ASSISTANTSHIPS

Full-time graduate students who wish to receive a teaching assistantship must complete an online application form. Ph.D. applicants will be offered an assistantship (teaching or º£½ÇÉçÇø ), if funding is available. º£½ÇÉçÇøs are encouraged to contact faculty in their area of interest to determine if º£½ÇÉçÇø assistantships are available. 

Undergraduates are eligible to become a peer-leader or instructional assistant.  Please visit the front office for more information. If there is interest in a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, visit the . The also publishes opportunities.

CYBERPATRIOT COACHES

The CS department is seeking coaches for middle and high school teams participating in the Airforce CyberPatriot Competition. The department is seeking a total of 20 coaches. Each coach will train four to five teams of three to five middle/high school students. Coaches will be expected to work with teams for a total of 20 hours per week starting in late October 2023. Coaches will be paid at a rate of $840 per month. For more information and to apply, please contact Karla Cuellar. 

FAST-TRACK PROGRAM

The Fast-Track Program enables outstanding undergraduate º£½ÇÉçÇø students to receive both undergraduate and graduate credit for up to 15 hours of º£½ÇÉçÇø course work as determined by participating Master's and Doctoral programs.

The Fast Track program allows Computer Science undergraduate students to earn credit for Graduate Courses while an undergraduate. With approval of the program advisors, courses may be applicable for a Master’s in Computer Science, Master’s in Software Engineering, and Master’s in Data and Information Science.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship for Service

The º£½ÇÉçÇø CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) program provides scholarships to support graduate students in the Master’s of Science in Software Engineering ( MSSwE) and the Ph.D. in CS programs.  Undergraduates enrolled in the Fast-Track Dual Credit program may also qualify to receive an SFS Scholarship. S-STEM

The S-STEM scholarship program provides financial support to Computer Science students with high academic potential. In addition to the financial support, the program engages students in co-curricular activities focused on cyber-security and professional development that prepares participants for future careers.
