Girls Who Code President recognized during the Annual Presidents Dinner
CS Senior Daniela Guel Valenzuela was recognized for her outstanding leadership as President of Girls Who Code College Loop Chapter.
The award was presented during the annual President's Dinner on March 29, 2023.
Girls Who Code is a new organization in the CS department that was established in the summer of 2022 as a community for women and non-binary students interested in tech and computer science. The organization's mission is to support one another in completing their degrees, and they believe that in order to change the world, you need more than just coding skills. Their vision is to develop a supportive network of peers where students can see themselves as leaders, allies, and learners. College Loop members gain access to exclusive and/or early career readiness opportunities, such as meeting with industry professionals & corporate partners or participating in Girls Who Code workforce programs.
In addition to her excellent academic records, Daniela worked in the CSTech team and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at CREATE with the College of Engineering.
