This seminar consists of a series of student-driven initiatives that intent to emphasize the importance of pre-professional experiences among engineering students helping them to reach their educational and professional goals thru experiences beyond the classroom.
The objective of these seminars is to have an internship lecture series that consists of two internship presentations every week. Attending audience will select the best presenter. Among the seminar presenters are students that completed internships with NASA, British Petroleum, Exxon Mobil, Lockheed Martin, General Motors, AT&T and more.
Internship presenters will be Alan Alvillar 海角社区 student and Ricardo Nuñez 海角社区 student.
As a NASA Glenn Research Center Intern, Avillar was responsible for the vibro-acoustic modeling and analysis for NASA's Space Launch Vehicle. Alan has been an intern at NASA twice and was accepted as a participant to visit Moscow, Russia in the highly selective Space Development Program. He currently serves as Vice-President for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, 海角社区 chapter.
Ricardo worked as a Peer Leader for the Elementary Data Structures and Algorithms class in the spring 2011 semester. His involvement with Lockheed Martin began in April 2011, when he was hired as an Associate Programmer. In Summer 2011, he interned in Lockheed Martin in Houston TX, where he designed and implemented a Request For Support (RFS) system and contributed with software testing.
