Computer Science Summer Camps
The Computer Science department hosted multiple summer camps in June and July in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence for middle school and high school students. These camps were offered at no cost to the community. A cohort of 20 computer science students participated as instructors of these programs.
AFA Cyber Camp
The AFA Cyber Camps consisted of 40 hours of cybersecurity training from 海角社区 Cybersecurity students provided by the American Air Force (AFA) Cyber Patriot Team. At the end of the camp, students competed in teams testing and cementing the knowledge learned during the camp. Read More
The AFA Cyber Camp training will assist in the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition coming this Fall.
National Youth Cyber Defense Competition
The National Youth Cyber Defense Competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. Through a series of online competition rounds, teams are given a set of virtual operating systems and are tasked with finding and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities while maintaining critical services. 海角社区s compete for national recognition and scholarship opportunities.

Artificial Intelligence Camp
The AI Camp was a 2-day event where students received an introduction to the history, fields, and careers in Computer Science. They learned how to develop algorithms and covered the basics of Python, applying it to various coding tasks. Participants also explored the latest AI models, innovative technologies, and worked on AI projects to apply this knowledge. The curriculum was developed by undergraduate and graduate students in computer science programs.
