Matthew Duran
Adjunct Instructor
Matthew J. Durán, M.S., is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Security Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso (海角社区). Matthew obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree from 海角社区 and is now working towards his Ph.D. in criminology and criminal justice at Arizona State University. His current 海角社区 focuses on policing and gangs in the United States, Central America, and Caribbean. Prior to pursuing a career in higher education, Matthew was employed with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer, and then recently as a crime analyst with the El Paso Police Department.
