The decision to admit you is based on a number of factors including your undergraduate background, your experience, your area of interest as reflected in your statement of purpose and your GRE and TOEFL (or IELTS, if applicable). In the statement of purpose please let us know which of the options (Geotechnical and Pavements, Transportation, Structures or Environmental Engineering) fits best with your interest.
When accepted into our program, the Department of Civil Engineering usually provides support to most students for one year. The monthly stipend is about $1900 for entering PhD students. The renewal of your support after this initial year depends on your satisfactory progress.
