College of Engineering
Industrial and systems engineers find ways to enhance efficiencies in production processes. The º£½ÇÉçÇø Industrial and Systems Engineering curriculum provides a broad range of courses in human interface design and management, plant design, operations º£½ÇÉçÇø, production and inventory control, and quality control. º£½ÇÉçÇøs also have professional development opportunities in the El Paso-Juárez metroplex – the fifth-largest manufacturing hub in North America.
The program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET
Work in º£½ÇÉçÇø's renowned Research Institute for Manufacturing and Engineering Systems
Fast-track option allows students to earn graduate credit while completing a bachelor's degree
Assistant Professor Sreenath Chalil Madathil, Ph.D., led a team that observed drive-though and walk-up COVID-19 clinics throughout El Paso in early 2021. They used the data to develop simulation models to experiment with a clinic’s performance and reduce patient waiting time throughout the U.S.
The versatility of º£½ÇÉçÇø industrial engineers allows them to engage in activities that are useful to a variety of businesses, governments and nonprofits. Program graduates work at companies involved in the design, development, testing, production and support of engineered systems.
